The 1950s Charity Map was lent by Anna Blomfield. Thank you, Anna. Anna’s ancestor was chair of the Eversholt Charity and prepared this map when the M1 was being planned, to show how the proposed route of the motorway affected charity lands. The M1 opened in 1959, so the map must have been prepared in the 1950s. The underlying OS map is out of its 50 year copyright period.
