Some hats, with ladies beneath

Doreen Jones provided this image. Thank you very much, Doreen. Sorry, I didn’t copy it well, because I’ve never built the custom document camera with vacuum hold-down that’ I’d really like. But Sheila doesn’t approve ☹️ of my permanently commandeering the dining room, for some reason.

Middle row, 3rd from the left, is William Escott Collins, rector of Eversholt from 1900 to 1938. He’s looking older in this photo, so it could be from sometime in the 1920s or 1930s. Any better ideas? I (EJW) have no idea who all the people are. The garden looks like what was them the New Rectory and is, in 2020, Linden House. Is that right?

It’s hard to tell, but I think nearly everyone there was female. What  was the occasion?
