This seems to be another of the E R Lovell postcards. These cottages, much altered, are still present in Tyrells End in 2011. Austin’s father-in-law, Francis E Chapman, lived in number 51 (the house numbers have changed since then) which was the second from the left of the four houses in the terrace.
Here’s the rent book. The house was rented from the Bedford estate, paying £4.55 per year. No more than nine people could live there – but children didn’t count! That would have been a real squash.
